Rams Finally Get Win

It has been awhile since the St. Louis Ram fans had something to cheer about, but today was another story. With time running out the Rams got a game winning field goal to upend the Washington Redskins by a score of 19-17. The Rams fired their coach and this was Jim Hasslet's first game as head coach and you could see a big difference in the team. Hopefully this will be one of many wins in the future.

Minnesota Edges New Orleans Despite Reggie Bush's Heroics

Reggis Bush ran back two punts for touchdowns and had 269 all purpose yards, but it did not matter as the Minnesota Vikings beat the New Orleans Saints by a score of 30-27. Ryan Longwell kicked a winning field goal for the Vikings as time was winding down for the win. The Saints had there chances as they missed field goals and had way to many penalties.

Drew Brees for the Saints threw for 330 yards, but did through two interceptions which really did not help. The Saints made to many big mistakes and this cost them the game. You also have to give Minnesota credit for not giving up and taking what New Orleans gave them. Adrian Peterson struggled all night so they needed every advantage that the Saints gave them.

Pittsburgh Steelers Stop Jacksonville On The Road

The Jacksonville Jaguars got the best of the Pittsburgh Steelers last year in the playoffs, but this time around the Steelers won at Jacksonville by a score of 26-21Ben Roethlisberger threw for over 300 yards and three touchdowns to help the Steelers get the win against a tough Jacksonville team.

Pittsburgh's defense was again tough last night as they harassed David Garrad all night long and he really could not get into any rhythm which is something a quarterback really needs to do if the want to win. Jacksonville and Pittsburgh will be two teams you hear from in the future.

Miami Dolphins Pull Second Straight Upset

The Miami Dolphins are starting to have fun playing football and it is showing on the field as they upset the San Diego Chargers by a score of 17-10. Ronnie Brown had over 100 yards rushing again and scored one touchdown. Chad Pennington kept up his hot hand has he threw for 228 yards on 22/29 and one touchdown. Miami's defense held LaDainian Tomlinson to 35 yards on 12 carries and made the plays when it really counted. If Miami continues to play this way than more people are going to have to change their opinion about this team.

North Carolina Shocks Another Team

Many people wonder who this college football team is from North Carolina. Butch Davis took over a program that has been struggling, but no more it seems. North Carolina have been one of the surprise teams this year so far and added another win to their resume as they beat UCONN by a score of 38-12. This puts the Tarheels at 4-1 this season and a good chance at a bowl game which is something that Tarheel fans have not seen in awhile.

BYU Extends Winning Streak With Win Over Utah State

The BYU Cougars who are ranked in the Top ten are not use to giving up points, but it did not really matter as they easily beat Utah State by a score of 34-14. Max Hall threw for over 300 yards and two touchdowns to pace the Cougars to the easy win.

This was the 15th straight win for BYU which right now is the longest streak in College Football. Utah State became the first team to score on BYU this year, but really was no challenge for the Cougars who will be heard from this year.

Utah Gets Field Goal To Avoid Oregon State Upset

After beating USC a week ago Utah knew they would have their hands full with the Oregon State Beavers and that is exactly what happen. Utah's quarterback Brian Johnson needed to make one heck of a fourth quarter comeback to help Utah beat Oregon State by a score of 31-28. Louie Sakoda kick the winning field goal for Utah who did not want to be another Top 25 victim that fell at the hands of an underdog.

For Oregon State they played well, but really had no answers for Utah's Brian Johnson in the fourth quarter. Both teams for the most part played little defense, but when Utah needed to get a stop they did. Both teams provided an entertaining game and it is a shame one team had to lose.

South Florida Loses To Pittsburgh

It seems that every time that South Florida gets ranked highly they stumble and get beat. Last night on their home field it was to the Pitt Panthers who did the trick. Pittsburgh defense held the South Florida Bulls scoreless in the first half and held on to a 26-21 win. LeSean McCoy ran for two touchdowns and Bill Stull threw for another to pace the Panthers who now stand at 5-1 on the season.

For the longest time the Pittsburgh college football program has been on the down slope, but it looks like they could be finally headed in the right direction. For South Florida it was another tough loss they had to endure.

Vince Young Back At Practice

This will be interesting week at Titans camp as Vince Young will be returning to start practicing again. Will he get his job back? I personally think he maynot get his job back right now. It looks like Kerry Collins has the job and it is his to lose. I know what many people think that you should not lose your job to an injury, but this time it could happen.

Many people wonder where Vince Young's head is and is he really ready to return or not. I guess only time will tell and we will have to wait and see how everything works out for him. For now though the job is Kerry Collins.

AP Top 25 College Football

Below is the latest rankings in College Football which as the Oklahoma Sooners number one and Alabama number two. It did not take Nick Saban long to get the program back where it needs to be I see. LSU is not far behind either so it should be interesting down the stretch that is for sure.
